Picnic FAQs

Fox Pointe | 18138 Henry St. Lansing, IL

  • Parking:

All Fox Pointe event parking is free and available in multiple municipal lots located in areas immediately surrounding Fox Pointe. An accessible entrance for elderly guests and those with disabilities is located on the west side of the venue. Please visit https://foxpointe.org/parking/ for details

  • Entrance:

All entrances to Fox Pointe will be through the main gate located at the southeast corner of the venue (at the intersection of Lake St. and Henry St.). All guests will be screened via metal detectors and bags will be checked by Fox Pointe staff and/or Fox Pointe security.

  • Alcohol:

Outside alcohol is NOT permitted. You can pre-order bottles of wine for pick up during check-in. A cash bar will be open during the event (cash/credit accepted). Proof of the legal drinking age will be strictly enforced. All alcoholic beverages must be consumed or disposed of before leaving.

  • Washrooms:
    South end by the entrance

  • Age requirement:

guests must be 21 years and older

  • Attire:

The tradition of "en blanc" is that all guests are dressed elegantly in head-to-toe white for an incredible visual impact of the event. This means no ivory, no off-white, and no beige… Originality is always encouraged, as long as it stays stylish and tasteful.

  • Arrival time:

Arrival and Check-in is from 5:30p-6:15p. If you are attending with a larger group, you must arrive together to be seated together. You are welcome to arrive late but you may miss portions of the evening's agenda and be seated separately from your group.

  • Seating with your whole party:

Coordination among your group is ESSENTIAL. In order to sit with friends/family, you will need to arrive and check in at the same time. Seating is arranged in order of guest arrival and space cannot be saved for guests arriving later.

  • Items to bring:

A square folding table and two white chairs (or white chair covers), a white tablecloth and cloth napkins, cutlery, dishware, glassware; and a garbage bag (all guests must clean up their picnics at the end of the evening). If you are bringing your own food, a picnic basket, or a tote with your goodies

White table clothes are required even if your table is white. Your tablescape is an integral part of the elegant aesthetic of the evening. A long-hanging tablecloth is preferred to ensure a cohesive feel.
You do not need to cover white chairs.

We will not be renting tables and chairs.

*Contained candles only. Open flame on uncontained candles (tapers/and non-protected flames) are not permitted

  • Food / what to bring:
For this event, you are encouraged to bring your own picnic! We do have personal cheese + charcuterie boxes from The Gourmet Goddess and cake jars from Sweet Nouveau available for pre-order. There will not be any food for sale during the event so plan accordingly.

  • Getting your tables, chairs, and other items to the location:
Wheeled and collapsible carts, dollys, and wagons that can be stored under your table during dinner are recommended. There will not be additional storage space available. See our recommended list of Picnic en Blanc items for suggestions.

  • Can we seat 4 (or more) at a table?
Seating will be arranged in rows and close together to accommodate as many guests as possible in the space. If you’d like to sit at the same table as parties of 4, or more we recommend arriving together and once your row is assigned, you can push your tables together to create one long table.

  • What else should I bring?
Insect repellent, hand sanitizer, wet wipes/towels, wine bottle opener, portable phone charger, sunglasses, hat, white blanket, or light wrap (if it's chilly).
